Questions...
Hello my fellow members, i am new to this site, well heres the deal i recently got my first car and its a 2008 chevy aveo sedan and i want to do some modifications to it, and i was wondering what is the easyiest thing to do the engine, performance wise and i want it to be bolt on, i know exsaust manifolds, air intakes, is there anything else i could do or get?? and tell me some of the things you did first to your aveo.

Re: Questions...
the 2nd gen aveos dont have many parts yet, a CAI should be your first project, then some new rims and tires with a set of springs or coilovers would make a big difference

Re: Questions...
2008 still has the etecii. like you hunter. you can get cams, pistons, pulleys, etc.
but for the big hp, you need to fab something more up..

Re: Questions...
.... but then with fabbing stuff it won't be the easiest thing that you're asking about. You already listed the easy stufff, CAI, headers, exhaust....

Re: Questions...
well whats better a cold air intake or a plain short ram air intake???
-
Re: Questions...
CAI is way better if your not boating through flash floods or anything like that
-
Re: Questions...
^^^ +1... CAI over short ram air... And if you do plan on travelling through the floods mentioned above, just get an AEM air bypass valve like so:

Re: Questions...
what does a performance chip do and is it worth buying?
-
Re: Questions...
No, the only "performance chip" for an aveo is just a resistor you put on your intake sensor to trick the computer into dumping more fuel. While you might feel some "gain" from having more gas in the cylinder, it is not worth the long term side effects that can damage your engine.
A real performance chip goes in the computer, ecu or ecm, either as a flash or a chip. And have actually fueling maps etc that reprogram how the engine runs. These are safe and put out more hp than those ebay resistor "chips" but unfortunately they are not available for the aveo. The only true solutions are a piggyback system or true standalone. Although i have been tempted to try plugging in a 2.0 computer and seeing what happens. But its risky without checking the results on a dyno and with a wide band, and i also dont have the EtecII engine to try..
