Potential Engine Swap

I've come into possession of a free 06 Cobalt LS with a 2.2. The engine and transmission feel strong, but the car is pretty junky.
I have been trying endlessly to fix my 05 Aveo, but the engine and transmission are just constant headaches. I love the car itself, but it just refuses to run properly.

I've seen a lot of people talking about Cobalt engine swaps. Can anybody lend some experiences or advice about whether this is a feasible operation?
Problems involving mounting the engine and axle lengths are expected.

For the amount of work, I wouldnt bother with the 2.2 cobalt engine. The cobalt SS engines are the ones everyone wants.
