p0016 timing nightmare after belt change

Got a 2011 thats been a headache ever since i bought it in 2013 with 40000 miles been through about 5 sets of spark plugs. Anyway did the 100000 mile service changed timing belt now it has the p0016 intake cam code so i took it back down and the intake cam was a tooth off so we readjusted it everything right now but i still have the code and it idles like a v8 with a huge cam you can clear the code and it will run ok until you kill it and then start back. Could it be the cam sensor has given up? Been a mechanic or a long time and thats all my family has ever done but this computer crap has me aggrevated. Any help would be appreciated.

One tool that's really cool to do coolant changes is this one UView 550000 Airlift Cooling System Leak Checker and Airlock Purge Tool Kit
It's called the Uview 550000. It uses a air compressor to vacuum out the coolant and refill the system back up again pretty quick. No worries about air pockets with this tool.

Have you tried the crankshaft variation relearn and are you sure the timing is set right? The newer models are more touchy with having the relearn performed.
