Hey there folks new here and sorry if I'm in the wrong area.

I have a chevy aveo 2005 ls with low oil pressure. The light rarely turns on but you can hear knocking.
It's at 10 or so psi (i think psi is the correct term).

A bandaid if you will, would be to put a higher viscosity of oil into the car. Currently I am running High Mileage 5w30 synthetic oil but that's not working I can still hear the ticking.

Can I put a 5w40 or will having a higher viscosity mess the internals up?

When the car is cold you don't usually hear the car. It's when it heats up that you start hearing the knocking.
