      Newbie Manual Transmission Question

      Hi,
I acquired a manual 2007 Canada-sourced Aveo5 not too long ago & am wanting to change out the gear oil. I got a jug of Ultra Plus 75W-90 GL-4 oil & have found the check plug up by where the passenger side CV axle goes into the transmission. I am assuming that there is no actual drain or fill plugs on this car & you have to pull the pan & then fill through the check plug hole?
I got some permatex Ultra Black RTV since I couldn't find a real, US-sourced pan gasket(except for the one they shipped to me already-ripped from China). Has anyone used RTV like this in place of a real gasket before with success? Any other tips, tricks, or warnings that anyone could offer about doing this service?
Also does anyone know where to get a reasonably priced 2nd key/fob(the car only came with 1). Thanks!

Thanks. I discovered that my Aveo's key doesn't have/need a transponder chip(you can wrap the head of the key completely with 3 or 4 layers of aluminum foil then try starting/running the car....if it starts & runs then there isn't a transponder).
So, instead of getting the whole fob I had a local mechanic sell & cut me just a regular key for it. Since there is no transponder needed it both locks/unlocks the doors & operates the ignition without any programming needed. I just have to be lucky and not lock the doors/arm the alarm with the existing fob before I lose it...Lol.....There is no way to cancel the alarm if the door is opened without the fob disarming it first.

Thank you for your response I’ll have to try that. I have a key with No chip. It’s works but doesn’t start it. Because it has no chip. But I Love my Aveo LT it has a sun roof in it. One of a kind Aveo LT
