motor swap Help

hi everyone and thanks for having me...i have a 2010 aveo and I need to put a motor in it..im getting no where on what motors will fit..so much conflicting info out there

Heya NickBigney - welcome to the forum.. I just searched it and found this it might help you in your journey:

You probably can find what I believe is a gen II ecotec 1.6L motor .. I am no expert, but few are on this forum who know this stuff anymore. Soooo thought to say I think to look at the second generation mass air flow sensor controlled motor, maybe there is one close by.

2010 and 2011 are the same. 2009 uses the same block but the crank trigger is different and from my understanding, will require the 2009 ecm.

I'm in the same boat. 2010-11 engines are more expensive too.
