milky oil / no oil
04 sedan with 155,000 miles SRI and cat delete header. well earlier today i heard a ticking coming from my engine, so i took off my oil cap and sure enough it had milky looking oil all over it. checked the dip stick and its dry. looked under the car, the passenger side wheel, and under the crankshaft pulley was covered in oil. (before this my engine had no leaks) so obviously all my oil has leaked out somehow and coolant got in my oil. i haven't had time to dig into it but it is an unwelcome Christmas gift. i will keep you guys posted

sorry please move thread to engine section

Milky oil on the bottom of the oil cap is very common on engines in colder climates. It's caused by condensation in the top of the valve cover and is not necessarily a sign of massive oil contamination in the pan. Sounds like you lost the crank seal. Hopefully you caught it before any real damage occurred. The good news is the part is cheap, the bad news is it's a real PITA to get access to so you can replace it. Good Luck,

yeah i sure hope its a simple fix
