LED light under the hood of your aveo?

Has anyone ever thought of a LED light or any type of light under the hood? SO when its dark you can see what you are doing? I have thought about doing it but do not know where to begin.. I have access to the LED's.. but in order for it to come on when the hood comes up i have no idea how to do that.. maybe a pressure release switch? grounding switch? any help or suggestions! thanks!

Why not a simple toggle switch mounted in the engine bay so you can turn them on when you need it
Sorry officer... with all of your stickers and strobes I thought you wanted to race

Well do you have a diagram on how to wire a toggle switch for that purpose? Cause i dont want to have to turn the key over to ACC everytime I want to turn them on? if that makes sense?

I use headlamp when I work in the dark and I really like it.
You dont need to think where/how to place and you can use it for other purpose too!

I have 2 blue LED strips under the food, but its for visual purpose(see my garage ) but it doesnt help too see under the food :P
btw I connected them to turn signals wire(brown)

Sounds good, make sense to use a head lamp but now i am interested in the under the hood lights for show.. is there anyway you can make a write on on how you wired them up and what kind of lights you got so they would burn under the hood? That would be so awesome! Thanks!

So they wouldnt burn* ... did you wire them to a switch coming off the turn signal light? I want to turn mine on without turning the key and without draining the battery.. is that possible?

Mine light up even when I dont start car. I just have to turn on the running light
Like you see, when you turn the bar(back of steering) 1/2, the fog and sidemarker light up even when the car doesnt start.
You can search LED strip and youll find it. Its all 12V so you can just plug to a one of the connection and it works.

Use this. Drill a hole in the metal cross member in front of the radiator and mount the switch. This will be your ground to the circuit. Fuse the other side and run direct to battery. No need for toggle and no need to tap another curcuit. When hood is open circuit grounds and lights come on

Sorry I didnt notice that you wouldnt drain power from battery.
      And its possible!!
it exists 12V battery so you can use its power to light up some LED. You can get some really cheap
