      Internals...

I know I read an artice that someone posted that stated what the internals of the engine are rated at but I cannot seem to find it....
      I SHOULD HAVE SAVED IT

I think it was like 160HP or something, but i dont know if thats at the wheels, crank, flywheel..... blah blah. Or is it more?

SO what is the most the internals and Transmission can handle?

I contacted a speed shop in my town through email that does fabrication work and all kinds of stuff and I should probably know this...

Yeah, seams to be follow the tread of the # having to do with the tq handling capacity. As an example, we have a zuki memeber that went through two D20s, one with 245whtq, and the other he had 200whp (tad bit more tq) and blew the tranny when he had a rare boost spike.

But I wouldn't think the D20 would be a hard swap, meaning the F28 would also not be too bad. The F28 is rated at 280tq, but when converting to FWD it'll hold a bit more. I'll probably be pushing around 350 crank tq on my F28 within the next 6 months so we'll see.

okay so its 160 hp at the flywheel for the engine and 160 torque for the tranny... If i get the engine to 150HP at the fly and 150 torque, I should be okay with reliability and stuff... or would it be a good idea to upgrade internals at that point?

You'd be getting close to the limit. Even if you are careful.

If i were you i would try to find the best way to keep the torque down a little if you can get 150hp and like 140tq or i think you would be safer

and it really depends what your doing with the car. Also in this n/a or forced?

It's all about the tune too. We've seen connecting rod bolts breaking on only 5psi, but we've seen them holding up to 10psi w/ 13psi spikes so it doesn't always follow any kind of guidelines. Torque is what kills trannys though and shifting too late also does it...if you shift up and it throws you in the back of your seat and you feel much more power than right before you shifted, you're probably shifting too late
