      intake manifold porting

Have any ecotec-09+ owners taken off their intake manifolds?? On the sonic forum they are grinding down what looks like little baby teeth on the runners and talking about increased midrange and top end. I am wondering if this is an option for us. Anyone ever heard of this??

taking the bottom of that port out. I am not sure ours has those, they act as restriction plates for emissions reasons..

Thanx for the pic. I dont plan on opening mine up till next spring. Dbilas has an intake manifold that should fit our ecotecs and repositions the throttle body's angle but its over a grand.

From what I ve read a beginer can handle this with the right tools. Alot of things can stay on the manifold, and one guy just took off the head bolts, plugged the head with shop towels to keep out debris, shaved the teeth down, and re attached. He never messed with any fuel or vacuum lines. Im going to wait it out over winter n give it a go.

I'm no that worried about the time I know I can do it if I can get to it and ita like the once pictured. I've done some work to my 350 when I had ky truck. Like motor swap. And many other l ittle stuff like msd ignition and way to much to list. But I'm also a small engine mechanic. Bu mowers and golf carts emissions are not controlled like the vehicles are. I have all the tools (drimmel) but I want to make sure on the E-tecll motors they are simular and its possible to do. And correct me if I'm worng but I would be removi mg that small plate on the bottom eith the hole in each one correct?

I have a spare intake manifold from my 2005 engine. I can take pictures of it tonight. I'm pretty sure that it doesn't have that flange that is shown on the picture rabbit posted.

Ok yeah if you could take a pick. And that pictured I believe is from the new sonic eich if I recall right has a 1.4 turbo (i believe its the same block from what i heard from others) or 2.0 but either way it eould be diffrent but if you could take some pics. That eould save me a tear doen of the car one afternoon
