HPT 2009 aveo5
I've been doing a little looking around for VCM/ECM tuners and I can't seem to find any companies whose software supports the aveos. I was just curious if anyone has had better luck. Down the road, I want to up the compression along with porting it,
and new headers and intake manifold. Can't do any of that till I have a tune that can handle it.
Any advise will be appreciated.

you can do the porting and headers before hand, not sure how you are planning on upping the compression.
Try trifecta they have a few tuners and have cracked the cruze, as well as are looking for an aveo to tune.
But if you can build custom intake an exhaust manifolds, you should already know that you need a custom tune to match the work, a "chip" tuner typically writes to a stock engine.
Try stand alone?

There are a lot of ways to boost the compression ratio. Just have to find out where I can take a little material off or add little.
I don't have much experiance with the whole electronic engine control systems yet so i'm sorry if some of my questions seem a little
basic or nieve.
How do I chose a stand alone menagment system? What does it need to be able to do? Is it very difficult to interface with the stock wiring harness?
What software do I need to be able to modify it?
