How difficult would it be to add an A/C to a car than doesn't have one

My 2004 Kalos doesn't have A/C, and in the summer the heat is a pain, so I have some ideas to reduce the temperatures inside the car.

I have been thinking on isolating the doors and the ceiling, and adding some wind deflector to the windows to be able to open them without the problems associated (lower mileage, vibration, noise, ...).

My wildest fantasy would be to buy the needed parts in a junkyard, and istall an A/C to my Kalos, but I'm guessing it would be really hard and expensive, right?

Does anyone have any idea about this?

I suggest you should check your car's RPO codes. If your car's RPO codes includes C66, then you are equipped with the "provision" to install AC as a possibility. If you don't have C66 as a RPO code, then installing AC will be much more difficult.

You might want to consider bypassing the heater. If you live in Spain, you don't need hot coolant circulating through the heater core in the middle of summer. I suggest considering looping the heater hose back to the engine, completely bypassing the heater core. Plug the heater core tube(s) and/or heater core hoses with a plug so that dirt doesn't get inside. By bypassing the heater core, this will reduce your dash and underdash temperatures from unnecessary heat.
