hi every one, i just read that you can safely run 11.6 to 1 on 92 octane gas. that would make a good amount of power, and if that is not enough, you can always bore out the engine to a 1.8L or even 2.0L and do 11.6 comparion. im shure we can go up to 10.5 on 87 octane.

Well, remember the HP Engine Kits from http://www.importperformanceparts.net/
There is one for the X16XE, its under Opel, Engike Kit #6. I don't know is anyone found out if it would work on our engines, but if it would i might give it a try. 80mm/11:1 ratio (at 80mm bore would give a 1.8L im pretty sure)

Even the pistons? They wont knock or get in the way of the valves or anything? That's nice, i wonder how much power that would produce

maybe you didnt notice but they dont offer 86-87 mm bore 10.8:1 pistons on the 1.6L block.....they only offer that for the other engine block

i think they have a bigger block completely so that the walls arent so thin....i mean you could probably use the pistons but boring out that much would be the problem

different block, 1.6 is a "small block" 1.8, 2.0. 2.2 are "big blocks"

Well the engine kit from Import Performance Parts is like $870, plus you'd have to pay to get the block bored out and rebuilt. I wonder if it would be more cost effective to swap in the u20sed instead. What do you guys think?
Unless the overbore and higher compression will produce more then 127hp i dont think i would spend that much in this, id rather swap the engine.

didnt the dyno test of the intimidator performance cams show up as 124 HP in a stock Aveo. Im my mind i would rather have a CAI, cam grind, open exhaust and a bigger throttle body.
CAI $200, full exhaust with hi flow cat...$350, cam grind (subachad said he got his done for this price) $140
if you think about it like that you would be putting out more that the u20sed, even without the kit from import perf. parts.
