Have a oil leak on my manual tranny Aveo. Can't find anywhere where it might be coming from. All fluids are good and topped. Leaks really really slow. Comes down the tranny. I'm thinking it might be from the tranny? Looks like engine oil but then again engine oil and manual tranny are light brown right? Any help on how to locate leak would be appreciated thanks
how do you see that it is leaking? comes down the tranny? did you look at the axle seals?
I have to agree with rabbit. If you cant see any thing on the Trans most likely axles @ theTrans.
what year is your aveo. my 2009 with 98 K miles had a leaking drivers side axle seal which they covered a couple months ago
It's a 2004 5speed. Checked the axle and nothing. I'm thinking it might be the rear main seal or whatever it's called. I put a quart of redline mtl-90 and it took the whole thing lol. Should have bought another quart. All other liquids haven't touched them and they stay the same. Well checked them here and there for a few months and they stay the same
Had this problem since I got it with 85k miles. It's at about 102k miles now
how are you checking the level? pull off the inspection plate, if the input shaft seal is leaking that much the clutch /bell housing will be damp and the clutch dust will be clumpy.. etc.
It leaks like a drop of oil a day. It's really slow. But yea maybe I'll do thatQuote:

Had the same issue with an '04 automatic. Lost very little oil, just annoying as hell to see a spot below the car every day. Thought it was the crankseal, because of the location of the drip. Turned out to be the valve cover gasket. No harm in looking.
