Header Doesn't fit??..... Anyone had this problem

Hey guys...

I just spent 6 hours putting on Xaio Garys Cat-Delete Exhaust header (Painted it Orange :D )

But.... The bolts to the block did not work... Did anyone else have this problem. The header is not thick enough off of the block, because the bolts on my block are not threaded all the way down.

I have it setting in there with large nuts as spacers, but it sounds awful because I can not make a tight seal...

Any suggestions?!?

either swap out the studs for shorter ones, or use bolts into the head?

You could use metal spacers, nuts should work fine for this. It won't look pretty but it should work. The alternative is to do what rabbit said.

So I would have to dig into the block and pull the studs out? Or is there a easy way to replace those studs? I would like shorter ones to keep it clean.

Any suggestions? If not I will proabably try to get a direct fit spacer.

the studs unthread, just like bolts. you can use a stud puller, or if there is a star on the end use a star bit, or put two nuts on them, tight the nuts to each other and use the inner nut to back out the stud..

then replace it with whatever proper length hardware you want.
