Engine swap question
I have a blown 1.6l 2004 e-techII motor in my aveo which I want to replace as cheaply as possible. The cheapest motor I could find is a 1.6L 2009 ecotech motor. My question is the swap possible and if so what parts would I need. Also is there a reason that the e-techii older motors with higher mileage seem to be going for more then the newer ecotech motors for the 1.6l?

There are some differences I think but I can not remember them off the top of my head.
It is not surprising the older engines are going for more, the older gen engines need to have the timing belt service done every 60k miles, but too many people do not do it for whatever reason, hence the increased demand haha.
Also people like this will go through engines like crazy :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjhYS0tSOyQ
Welcome to the forum btw and good luck on the swap!

the electronics won't match up

you could swap it, but it would not be easy. you are already looking at a DBW swap, electronics transfer for different ecu, etc.
if you want a swap, look for a 2.0 etecII
