Engine Swap Question
Hello everyone, glad I could be part of your forum, now onto my first post and first question, Im looking at picking up a 2007 Aveo, price is 1200 bucks needs an engine swapped into it as the timing belt broke and I dont feel like taking the time to tinker with the little things that might possibly fix it, I can get a used motor in my area with around 45-50k on it for 650 bucks, my question now is, the engine im looking at picking up is out of an automatic, and the car I need to put it into is a 5 speed, is there going to be any issues with swapping the motors or should it be just a pull out and put in job? any information anyone can provide will be much appreciated.
Thanks

you will need to swap the clutch and flywheel with the flex plate, an you should also replace the timing belt water pump while your at it. Aside from that, it wont really matter.

Thank you very much for the reply

What rabbit said, the 2.0 in mine came from an automatic as well. All you need is the flywheel and clutch assembly from your old 1.6 the rest is bolt on plug and play.
It is also possible that you will find a small spacer behind the flywheel from the automatic engine, take that spacer OUT do not leave it in. Bolt the manual flywheel directly on the engine.
