I have a delima and need troubleshooting advice. My fan comes on real slow. Once the motor heats up it stays on slow motion never kicks into high speed. I have changed the relay high one and it still does the same thing. Now if I run a wire directly to it and to battery it comes on high speed. Could it possibly be that cooling temp sensor? What else should I consider as well? Where is the cooling temp sensor located and is their a diagram for it please post. THanks?
I don't know what year model you are working on, so I can only wage a guess, but the cooling temp sensor should be under the intake manifold near the front of the engine. You will need to get to it from under the car. However, the temp sensor only connects to the ECM - it is not part of the fan circuit. Without knowing the year I can't post anything very helpful for you, sorry.

I found a cooling temp near the housing of the termostat but more on the motor. Is there another one?
If I run the motor just on the fan without a direct connect it comes on but comes on slow and when you raise the hood all the oil and water is pushing itself out of the bottle so you have to unscrew the top slow to release the pressure but it all comes out over flowing. if I use the switch that is directly connected to the fan and battery you can drive the car and it don't do that.
Attachment 10181Ok print this out, and you should find your culprit somewhere on this diagram.
Either a fuse or a relay, or possibly the connectors/harness that connect to the ECM at the relays. From my experience working on these cars is the problems are normally dirty contacts, or bad/loose grounds.
I would guess G102 is ok since you can hot wire the fan on high.
So really check AGAIN, then AGAIN lol around the Hi relay all outlined in the diagram.
