      Cold Air Intake ?

I bought a cold air intake for my 2007 Aveo5 it came with two pipes. The short one that comes off the motor and the other pipes connects to that to bring it down into the wheel well. I am seeing a lot of people only useing the one tube and putting the filter up top instead of inside the wheel well. Is there a difference in the placement of this and performance? As of right not I have mine in the wheel well.

Putting the filter inside will suck air coming in from the front of the car and maybe some engine heat, but it will make it a Short Ram intake or otherwise known as a warm air intake. You will get a pretty good throttle response and maybe feel a difference in power, I did, and it makes a bad ass sound which i like! The cold air intake like you have will pull cold air from the wheel well and it produces cold air which is better but Im not sure on the sound of one of those.. but either way you go it will work, i am by NO MEAN AN

I got better mpgs with my short ram, however I run my filter in the wheel well. I get less mpgs but should gain a little power( in theory). the down side of a cold air intake is the threat of submerging your intake in h20 and hydro locking your engine. An AEM bypass can offer u peace of mind, they do work, they r just poorly made.
