ok guys ive seen alot of horror stories on here with the cai for these cars causing hydrolocking

so now my question is does anyone have a pic of how the intake is places... im curious on maybe making a sri/cai mix where the piping will run along the fender and the filter being placed in somewhere by the upper grille so that it can get some cold air but wont pick up water..

some help to increase power and have a deeper pure from intake but no hydrolocking!! lollll

I only know of one car personally that hydrolocked because of a cai, and it was driving in 2 feet of water when it happened. (flood anyhow).

my filter is 8" off the ground, and 11" to the pipe. I have had no issues.

mine sits pretty low because of the coilovers and i dont have inner fenders i have no issue i just had to use a different filter

I wouldnt want to take the inner fender off, but i just drove my car with CAI through some big ass puddles and didnt hydrolock lol. I also took my covers off of the front fogs for more air though. the filter sits high enough that it wont pic up water coming through there

i have a custom water sheild that i made with the peice from the inner fender.
