      A bad friday night

Well i went to the guy that does most of my work and ask him to change the oil (i had the gtx oild and k&n filter) and i sat inside while he did it. When i left his house, the car was a bit strange, then on the highway 27 i had a ton of smoke blow out the back. I pulled over and looked at my oil and trany fluid.......

I found that he drained the tranny fluid and put another 3.5 quarts of oil in the engine

After waiting for my stepdad, we drained the oil and got it to the right amount from over 9 quarts lol, and put so crysler type 4 tranny fluid in

My car smoked for about 5 miles and stoped smoking, and my car shifts better than it did before (i think my tranny fluid was low anyways)

After about 30 miles, the rough shift into 3rd went away and was better than ever, and nothing blew since there was so much oil in the engine

      I learned the following...

      1. the aveo is a badass car with no tranny fluid, it didnt burnout and with all that oil it still went lol
      2. Type 4 crysler tranny fluid is awesome
      3. Change your oil yourself or take it to a licensed shop

Im going to go back and kick the guys @$$ soon :P

How did he not notice the red fluid in his drain pan or see the oil way up the dip stick when he was suposto check the level?

I'd go and drain his tranny for him.

Glad it wasn't a lot worse. He could have drained the engine, then filled your transmission! When he drained the tranny, it probably was dark, as was mine after just 40k miles. You only lose about 3 quarts, or so, and the transmission will still function. The guy definitely wasn't paying attention!

I must admit to never checking my dipstick after an oilchange. I know how much is supposed to go in there. I do check the level every week, though.
