Sound clip plox! So far the best muffler I have heard is a borla, followed by flowmaster (60 series) and this one seems to sound pretty good too.

No matter what exhaust you put on this car, be it a 25$ ebay or 250$ hks titanium exhaust, it will always have a deep tone, thats the sound these engines make. You will never get a civic-sounding-mosquito-scooter-rev-your-granda's-chainsaw-like-you-mean-it sound with these cars.... LOL!!!

I have no muffler on mine, i removed the rear muffler and put a piece of straight pipe with a high quality dual tip at the end.

The sound is louder then if you had any type of aftermarket exhaust on it of course, but the tone is still deep and troaty.

      Unless you do this:

Though I agree for the most part the clips I have heard are pretty good in terms of the sound of the 1.6. I find that the borlas tend to cancel out a lot more of the higher pitch sound than most mufflers do. Apexi doesn't seem to bad either from what I have heard so far.

I didn't realize the stock muffler was a giant triangle behemoth until recently though.

Youre right the tone was low with my previous muffler but after installing the header the $30 muffler from japan decided to crap out! The aero exhaust is now got to be my favorite. The acceleration is way more smooth feeling. The muffler was designed for turbo engines to put the exhaust out faster and spool the turbo faster. There is not packing material in the muffler just completely stainless steel.
