advice plz, timing a 08 aveo

so I have a 08 chevy aveo which came into the shop for a timing belt, when I slacked off the tension on the automatic tensioner and removed the belt the rear camera moved 2 teeth so my question to reset the timing from scratch on these engines with the belt off can I just rotate crank till #1 is a TDC then move the cams to appropriate position and then install the belt or is that not the correct way on these

Best to start from scratch, do your 2 full revolution by hand and you should be fine. I wouldn't trust it.

I'd expect the vehicle is already out the door and you won't need to come back here, but in any case the answer to your question is yes.
