Smile 2nd Gen (2011) Aveo5/lt2 Cold Air Intake

      Hello everyone!

I am looking for a cold air intake setup. What I am trying to accomplish is improving my mpg. I have scanned through the forums and saw some recommending short rams while others recommended true cai's. Are there any changes in the actual mpg for those of you who have one setup or the other? Are there any kits available now in 2022? Thank you all in advance for your replies and suggestions.

Hi, I currently run a true CAI setup on my '08 AVEO5 with E-tec II engine.

I bought the cheap eBay kit for $100 a year or two ago and just recently installed the it. Took about 30 minutes with simple tools.

Used to get at best 22mpg, now I'm seeing 25mpg consistently. Even with my lead foot driving in city. I drive about 2 hours a day mixed city/hwy doing night deliveries.

Sounds really nice at 2500+ rpm but stays quiet when sliding past the authorities. Lol

Can you post a link to the kit you purchased and other things that will be needed? Thank you for the reply.

This is my exact kit I'm using, but it's cheaper than what I payed a while back.

I'll post pictures of my install tomorrow.

Great! Th pictures would be nice! I see this kit goes up to an 08. Would it fit in a 2011 Aveo5?

If you engine bay is the same setup it should fit. You just need to remove the stock airbox assembly.

It won't fit since the newer engines are designed differently. Only a short ram is offered for those with a 2010 plus. The Chevy Cruise has a cold air intake that may fit our Aveos. The only thing I have noticed in the pictures that may be different is the MAF sensor design. Could anyone confirm this?
