Hi, I've got a 2010 Aveo 5 with 98,000. The car is parked while waiting on a new rear hub/bearing delivery. While it's sitting, I thought it would be a good time to do the timing belt since it's so close to 100,000 miles. I've searched all over this site and have found many detailed descriptions about timing belts in earlier models, but not newer aveo's. Has anyone here replaced a timing belt in the newer cars? It seems that the water pump/tensioner is not a factor with a 2010. It looks like just a regular tensioner and idler. Correct? Looks like the only special tools I'll need is a fixing rod? Can a screwdriver do the trick? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
