2009 Aveo 1.6 head bolt torque specs

OK, I am at a bit of a loss here. I have seen three completely different torque specs for the 2009 L4-1.6 engine head bolts.
      18 ft/lb+60+60+60+10 degrees
      25NM+70+70+70+35 degrees
      25NM+90+90+90+45 degrees

The last one is from the All Data Repair website for the car which supposedly is from the manufacturer service manual. However, it is MUCH higher than the other figures, so I suspect it.

Anyone have a service manual for the 2009 with the later VIN?

      Thanks,
      Keen

Here is a picture of the 2006 head bolts for clarification or confusion. They are close in spec. I would go with the lower numbers.

Maybe, but the 2009 1.6 engine has differences. I appreciate the effort in posting the 2006 numbers, but I'm still hoping to get the 2009 numbers somewhere.

      Thanks,

Try this. Not sure if you have the LXV engine.

Yes! I have the LXV engine. Funny that the All Data website had one extra 90 degree turn.

      Many thanks!

Damn. I think I just found the online manual you sourced that page from in the forum. In the repair section of that same online manual for installing the cylinder head reads the following:

      ...
      2. Install the cylinder head bolts (1) and tighten to
      25 N·m +90° +90° +90° +45°
      (18.4 lb ft +90° +90° +90° +45° )

I guess now I need to go down to my local Chevy dealer and ask the service manager.

      Ugh.

I see the difference. When I put my head back together I used the chart. Good luck talking to the service manager. If you look at the 2006 they turned it 60 three times. I would do the 90 three times. hell what's the difference between 270 vs 180? = 90!

So an extra 90 can be that bad, let's just say it's extra tight!
