hoping it loosens up the potential carbon/sticky valves....as per the TSB. however in the end the plugs/wires/new hose from the manifold to the map sensor, and dose of seafoam yielded no results...still doing the same thing. and i cannot afford to spend the 120$ on a coil when theres potential that it is not the issue.

Well ive said it on this sight a dozen times, dont waste your time with seafoam..
instead of spending the $120, pull the coil pack off the car, inspect it thoroughly for cracks, discoloration, etc, check the plugs, and everything. If it has any signs of wear, you have two options. 1. replace it, and my experience, unfortunately, suggests not getting the cheap one. 2. seal it. I have done this many times with success on externally failing coil packs. I typically sal all te cracks with a high temp silicone, and then "dip" the entire unit with old plug wires and tape over the wiring connections as a mask, into a silicone tool coating. Look up "vr6 coil pack repair" you might find a how to somewhere. this will cost you less than $15, and might cure your issue.

will look into that. thanks

I will have to check this out too. I was having a similar issue with my aveo. I would come out of work and let off the gas to come up to the light and by good luck it would turn green (or there was no traffic so I just went) and after I made the right turn I would get back onto the gas and it would just not go. As soon as I would let off the gas it would be ok and I could get right back on it. The hold and check engine light would flash...then just randomly stop.

If you are still having this problem check the plug at the air filter intake tube. I recently had to replace the cylinder head and didn't plug that in because the tube was dry rotted and I was going to replace it. I didn't think it would have anything to do with the transmission but it does. Does anyone know why?

i maybe way off here but i read that if the hold light is on or blinking it means that there is an issue with the transmission werner001

wiring diagram
Sorry, I didn't use a diagram. Like I said, it was basically a process of elimination. I just plugged in the last thing I knew wasn't plugged in yet and the light went off.
