2004 air intake hose replacement

I have a 2004 hatchback that needs a new air intake hose...no codes...just a big crack
The old intake duct (hose) has the sensor by the air box and the small hose (not sure of it's name or function...sorry) by the engine...opposite sides of the big hose
ALL the current replacements have the sensor and small hose connection at the same end of the duct and appear to be on the air box side...These are available in a wide price range but all look the same.
And all reviews concerning fitment of these on a 2004 are 1 star reviews saying it did not fit properly.
I suspect the existing small hose will not be long enough to reach...
So...anyone experienced in the work-around on this...?
