09 GM voluntary emision recall???

i have just received a letter from GM canada... says that my 09 aveo has recall...


"General Motors has decided to conduct a voluntary recall involving all 2009 model year chevy aveo vehicals equipped with a 1.6L engine. A degraded connection between the spark plug boots on the ignition coil assembly and the spark plugs may cause the illumination of the check engine light soon light, rough engine operation, and reduce engine power.

Your GM stealer-ship will install new spark plug boots and sparks plugs. The service will be performed for you at no charge. as a reminder, the scheduled maintenance interval for spark plug replacement is every 40000km.


the new gm spark plug number and the new spark plug gap are listed below. please update your owner manual or place this letter in you owner manual for future reference.

New spark plug number: 25186682
New spark plug gap: 0.031-0.035 inch (0.8-0.9mm)"

Everyone 09+ seems to be getting them.

Yeeeep. I got it and right on cue the next day my cars check engine light came flashing and the "hold" light was also flashing like a christmas tree, engine knocking. Towed to the dealer and now everything is alright! Engine runs better then ever.
