      '06 Manual Transmission Fluid Change - Interval, Spec, and No Drain Plug?

      So were gonna do the trans fluid while we got this shop session going on. So I called GM, they said 50K KM (30 thousand mile) interval, that surprised me as I don't believe my dealership ever did the trans fluid.
      The spec the local GM said is 75W85 GL4 which is different from the 75W90 I saw mentioned in this forum.
      And lastly is there a drain plug or not? I tried reading some threads didn't seems there was a definitive answer. We are just assuming there isn't and removing the pan, but now is there a hidden pan bolt that requires removing the rubber boot or not? Any fast replies appreciated were doing this today.

      so we did not find a drain hole, we just pulled the pan and left the gasket slightly in place, 2 quarts of synthetic 75w85 found dusty in the back, and it is hot butter.. hey manual folks the interval on this is apparently 30,000 miles
      the pic is the fill hole.. do it you won't regret it, the tranny oil is eexpensiive forty bucks a quart. its worth every shift

      yes, firestone coilrite airbags - i don't know how that pic got in there i must have done in error.. ill do a post on the airbags after i've fully tested them

      Wasn't sure if I had the same filler bolt as OP so here's some pictures.

      Feels better, first gear is way easier. I think I was way under by at least half a quart($500 Aveo life). Shifts feel smoother like the Royal Purple claims.

      There's a PDF floating around that says what fluid they use and it says Syncromesh fluid for certain years of the same transmission that has the weight listed but it also says Syncromesh after that. I went with Royal Purple($16ea at orielly's) because it felt thicker like it would offer more protection than the Syncromesh Valvoline that was only about $10ea.

      I left my gasket up there on the trans as well and de greased both then cross pattern torqued it back down lightly.

      Sorry to resurrect such an old tread.

      I was adding some manual transmission gear oil to my 2007 Chevy Aveo5 through the breather tube hole. I got the breather tube cap off ok, but when I went to put the cap back on, the cap snapped in half.

      Where can I get another replacement cap? I have looked online some. My last ditch effort is the junkyard...but would like to have a new breather cap.
