06 aveo5 LSJ supercharged engine swap

Hi all

I am swapping my little 1.6 to an lsj supercharged I already have most parts/components to start the build.

Motor and trans
Shifter
Axles
Cobalt hubs
Coil overs
Struts
5 lug rims
Lower ball joints
Brembo brakes and rotors
Inner and outer tie rods
And a few more things..

I'll be skipping over the lsj maintenance
(clutch,flywheel,timing chain, smaller supercharger pulley etc) since I already made all the replacements before try to fitted in the aveo.

But before I begin I have to give credit where credit is due to thehotrodguy for giving me a lot of information on how he swap his aveo.

motor is out took me about an hour take it out can't believe is fairly simple, nothing like my dsm.lol

lsj ready to be installed

if your installing the engine from the top you will need to remove a few things
AC compressor
Intake/intercooler lines and filler tube

Ill be keeping the stock aveo mounts to make the swap go easier and just fab up some plates to fit the lsj mount brackets

just my luck snapped the inner tie rod, now i have to replace the rack and pinion

Continuing the build the aveo lower control needs to be modified to accepted the cobalt ball joint, I am using the cobalt struts, lowering springs (not shown) and hub. The aveo top strut mount needs to be used so the cobalt strut can bolt on to the frame.

Note if using the brembro calipers make sure the disc shield and plate are installed, the calipers will contact the rotor if they are not installed. Trust me I won't be doing that mistake twice, also note a minimum of a 17" rim will be needed and depending on the rim you might need a spacer like mine do.

On the front end depending on the radiator you choose to go with, it will diced how much cutting you have to do. I choose to go with the cobalt's aluminum radiator which requires a lot of trimming of the front end.
