you want to pull the pin and clip out against the transmission input shaft, then the joint falls apart.

then at the firewall you loosen the pinch bolt and slide the two shafts apart:

since that whole section of linkage is mounted to the rear transmission mount, you might as well pull the shaft pin:

Hey thanks for the great reply and pictures. Turns my shaft pivot pin was corroded and not moving. Some pb blaster and a hammer motivated it out.
Hey Rabbit, is that last picture the proper orientation when it is in the car? I did a motor swap last week and now I can't get reverse, can't downshift into second and sometimes can't get fifth.
