      Year-to-year changes

Besides the obvious exterior restyling, what changes have been made to the Aveo's design since 2004? Have there been any changes to the stock engine or performance? Have there been improvements over the '04 models?

your poll is a lil off, it should be 07-08 sedans. there were no changes from 04-06. dont mean to make a fuss but just sayin...
You can not commit crimes in a Aveo. Its just not fast enough.

      Re: Year-to-year changes

I think the 07-08 sedans look the best (of the sedans). They ahve more of an agressive look to them, with the bit more squaring in the front, the euro tails. The interior advancements were a little nicer too. I owned an 05, now an 08, and I think my new Aveo is 10 times nicer than my 05 was.
      I love them both though.

      Re: Year-to-year changes

Ah, yes. My mistake. The poll has been corrected to "07 to 08 sedans".

Personally I like the original design with the "smiley face" grill, even if some say that it's too "cute" looking. The 07-08 sedans look like "Malibu Wannabes" to me, with the huge, uplander-like grill and chrome accents. I say that an economy car shouldn't try to hide it's inexpensive nature. If it's plastic, then by golly, it should look like plastic so I don't sit on it thinking it's something strong like metal.

Well, actually, the 04-05 designs remind me of my old Geo Metro, with the "Yeah, I'm not powerful, but I'm gonna try to make it up that hill anyway" look. So that's why I like it.

      Re: Year-to-year changes

I was actually referring to the Metro, with its 55-horsepower 1 liter engine. I agree that Aveos have plenty of power, I can even pass alot of muscle cars on the interstate sometimes.

      Re: Year-to-year changes

I was bored last night so I decided to use photoshop to see what an Aveo would look like as a convertible. I also changed the style of the hood and bumper a little to give it an SSR style, and here we are.
