      Tire size question

I've been searching and I cant really seem to find a yes or no answer.
What size 15" tires does everyone use on these cars?

I found a set of stock 15" 5 spoke aluminum rims in the salvage yard yesterday. Almost new tires. However the tires are 195/60r15.
Will these rub at all? I do load my car to the point where the rear sags.
I currently have 185/65r14s on the car.
But want to go to a 15" rim.
If those won't work, what are some wider than stock sizes I can use?
      195/55r15?
I do have a set of steelies from a cobalt/ion available to me if those aluminum rims won't work.

Does anyone know how much those stock 5 spokes weigh vs stock steelies?

      Thanks in advance

I changed tire size but I stuck with the 14" rims because I like the rally car look better. I put 195/65R14s on it and have absolutely zero rubbing issues at all. I looked online and 195/60R15s are less than a quarter inch taller and no wider at all so you should have no problem running them at all.

While looking for a suitable road tyre for my Jimny, I came across this Hankook tyre in 15": https://www.hankooktire.com/au/passe...timo-k715.html

The only 15" tire I saw was a 165/80R15 which is way too narrow for a GMC Jimmy. It should take a 235/75R15. A much wider and taller tire overall. Take a look at the Goodyear Wrangler Trailrunner AT. Nice on/off road tire with a decently chunky offroad pattern but still really does well and rides quiet on the highway. But not insanely expensive.

I agree with the suggestion for off-road+highway use. On the Jimny Forum this is a very hot topic; All Terrain Tyre Comparisons - BigJimny Forum feel free to read and reply.

I am reasonably happy with my stock Bridgestone Dueler 195/80R/15 for now, but for my seniors driving style a softer, more "car-like", tyre would suit me better.

Please ignore my previous comment about tire (tyre) size. I misread your comment and thought you were speaking about a GMC Jimmy which was a very popular SUV here in the States from the late 80s through 2005.

YabbyLyfe, do you have any pictures of your car?
I deal with a lot of pot holes. So I do like a taller tire. I'm a little hesitant to use aluminum rims. I've bent one steelies already (but i was able to use a hammer and straighten it out mostly).
I found found twp sets of VW steelies (one is 7 hole and the other is 8 hole) both with your tire size.
From what I've read, vw rims SHOULD bolt up. My extra steelies are really rusty and frankly I'm not super excited to sand them down and paint them.

I also found a set of honda rims. I believe they are hx rims. But again, from my reading the center bore is too small. And i found one person who said they hit the caliper in front.

      Thanksl you for the replies

The first photo is with the stock 14" alloys that I hated but with the new tires 195/65R14s. They're about 1 3/4 inches taller overall than the 185/60R14s that came on it factory, so it lifts the whole car about 7/8".

I got those Pacer wheels online. They were the exact right bolt pattern and fit perfectly.

Ive never been a fan of those alloys lol. They do not help the car in any way.
I do like those pacer wheels. I may have to think about this. It might be an option so I don't have to deal with junk yard rims or rusty rims.
      Are they very heavy?
      Thanks for the link.

I do like the way your car looks and sits.
How far off is your Speedo?
