Thought I'd repost this here...clean your fenders!!!
This is also in a thread in "exterior" called the rust report.
I thought it was important enough to post here.... I think you might too, if you dont want your aveo to rust out behind the front rear wheels....
Alert! Northern owners....
I cleaned out my inner front fenders today....holy cow, I couldn't believe the amount of packed in dirt!!!
See the pics! This area will surely rust through if this is left unattended. Might take a few years, but watch and see.
I'd suggest taking the lower 2 or 3 bolts out and spraying with high pressure water.
I went balistik on mine and cleaned them with my hands and some tools, even an old toothbrush to really it clean. Then I smeared some old wax I had all over inside of there.
Don't use anything that will scrape the paint, or you'll be in for big rust.

Re: Thought I'd repost this here...clean your fenders!!!
Wow you have a a weed growing inside your fender LOL
Re: Thought I'd repost this here...clean your fenders!!!
LOL, plant a weed seed down there and you'll have a kona budd fender antenna in 8 weeks.
Re: Thought I'd repost this here...clean your fenders!!!
lol... that plant growing in there is reason enough to do something about this.
There is a quarter-sized hole near the peak of the wheel well that easily lets dirt and debris into this compartment, I'm thinking of patching it up to keep crap from coming in. Should help to prevent plants from growing in there...
Re: Thought I'd repost this here...clean your fenders!!!
I think a bondo/silicone how to is in order for what seems to be a common problem that can be easily remedied. MonzeAveo, get to work.
Re: Thought I'd repost this here...clean your fenders!!!
Thanks for the info--
I checked mine out and, while I didn't have anything growing in there, I did have about an inch of wet sand in the bottom of both cavities. Cleaned them out and we're good to go for another 2 years!
Thanks again.
