Sold the 2004 Aveo
Hey everyone, its a sad day in my house today. As you all know I bought the 2012 Cruze and kept my Aveo until just recently. As the story goes I bought the new Cruze right before Christmas and transferred my plates from the Aveo to the new car. Anyway after driving the new Cruze for a couple of weeks and looking at my Aveo just sitting in the garage I felt terrible and re-registered it and put insurance back on it and have been driving it ever since. Well this created two problems. First I bought a new car and am not driving it while still making payments on it, and second, I'm paying insurance on my old car when I have a brand new car I'm not using. My wife came to me recently and said the her cousin Christina's car recently died and she needs an inexpensive good car to drive her kids around in and get to work and did I know anyone that might be selling a car like that? I knew immediately where she was going with that question! Point being that I sold the car to her cousin for $1500.00. At least I got to see it up to 156634 miles when I dropped it off at her house. I figured that the car didnt owe me anything and since it was long since paid off and I got more than my monies worth out if that the price was just fine with me since it was my wifes cousin. Hey at least I'll still get to see the car since its staying in the family. Oh, and I also removed my Alpine deck and replaced the radio with the stock cd player from the factory. The Alpine is now in my wifes 07 Aveo 5, At least I still have one Aveo in this household. Good-bye old faithful friend and companion! Damn I wish I hadnt done that!

Sad to see a car go, but it is nice to do good things too. I sold one of my wife's old cars to my cousin about 3-4 years ago now. He still has it and brings it over to work on every once in a while. She likes seeing it every now and again.

At least it will be close still and taken care of, it is the best thing for you.

You fellas are all very very right. I couldnt agree more. You know its funny and very hard to descibe but in some way I guess I had quite an attachment to the car. When I was growing up I always drove very small cars. VW Bugs, Toyota Celicas, VW Rabbits and such. The Aveo was the first car in 20 some odd years that I was very comfortable in eventhough it was a small car. So much easier to just jump into it and run around doing my errands and commuting to work. Not to mention also that the gas was so much less than driving the Suburban and so much easier too.

We just bought the wife a 2012 Ford Fusion SEL and its very nice, but I was very sad because we needed to keep our pickup to haul stuff in so I thought my "Rollerskate" would have to go :( After a few days of being really bummed out I decided "the heck with it" this car is so cheap there is no good reson to let it go! I'm very happy now, and if I have the choice of which three vehicles- I will jump in the "Rollerskate" everytime :) :)
