I need the experts here at aveo forum to help me out. I am traveling to south america and have a cousin who competes in rallying but he desperately wants me to take him some HALO headlights BECUASE he says that it is super rare to own out their and it is very expensive.

I live in Los Angeles and have looked around only to find the headlights of the american aveo now I did a little research and it seems that their is a version of the Aveo called the kalos that did not make it to the USA. ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS IS APPRECIATED

That is the front end that used to come on 2004-2008 Aveos in Canada and the USA.

senior member nemasys just sent me a personal message saying that aveo never made it to the states. i am looking on wiki and I think he might be correct

The aveo is only in North America, everywhere else it is a Kalos, same car except for the front bumper and head lights. Nemasys's is the same as everyone else's aveo body wise, except for things like the halo headlights and such. No one in the states has gotten thier hands on any kalos headlights or bumpers, it is just too expensive. I would suggest just buying the halo's off ebay for $200 and de-badge the front grill. But if you are going over there, you may be able to pick up the parts and then ship them back, it is going to cost a lot, I can not recommend it.

The other thing is, the headlight swap may require more than just the front bumper, they look different shape wise, I do not rememeber what is different.

What you should do is buy a set of halo headlights, take them and trade him for his, you should be able to see if it will work. Bring em back and put the kalo's set on your aveo and your done

(I still think the front bumper is needed as well, but it is still early and I am tired, I can not remember :P)

Who cares about the headlights... I want to see pics of the engine bay and suspension. Would love to see what's been done to let the shock towers survive a jump, and the drive shafts survive full droop like that.

the aveo is set up just like mk3 vw in front.. the axles might not be as high quality, but the length is there like a vw. mk3 vws make great rally cars too.. i can see the aveo needing a tower brace (not attached to the struts). but at most a harsh landing would blow out the upper strut mounts, not the towers.

when i worked for vw, we had a rally team sponsored, he had 4 complete assembled spindle/strut/control arm set ups ready to go in available at every race. we had to align the car with each set up bolted on. take it off, do the next.

USA received the rebadged kalos which has the front end you see on every chevy aveo running around in the USA, the lights you are reffering to would be kalos headlights. If your cousins aveo has the same front end and headlights that you currently see on every other aveo in your area, you will need to find kalos headlights, kalos bumper, and (i could be wrong on these next 2) I believe hood and fenders. I know for sure you need the lights and the bumper. another member on here serega has the conversion on his aveo
