      odometer guage doesn't show anything/blank

Hi, I have a 2008 chevy aveo with 40,000 plus miles on it and the digital odometer no longer shows anything/it's blank. Any idea what it might be, it runs great, Thanks, Mike

Could have died but I'd try unplugging it and back together see if it makes any difference

      1. Is the engine light on?
      2. The main fuse for this is located in the IPC (instrument panel cluster), located inside the dash on the left end of the dash.
This is almost always a 10 or 15 amp.
Some Aveo's have a secondary fuse link with the IGN1 fuse located in the engine bay, also on the left, behind the battery.
I would pull both out, after disconnecting the negative battery cable. You should consider replacing both.
      3. Most of these issues come down to a speed sensor, on one of the wheels. A common OBD code is 0722.
Another area is corrosion, in the instrument cluster array.

I have watched multiple videos and have pulled the instrument cluster out (it was very hard to get the plug out as it is close to 20 yrs old) plugged it back in and the odometer still shows partial numbers, I know I only had 40,000+ miles before this happend but who will belive that with out proof. It failed the emission test 2 or 3 times due to not being driven, put some CRC cat cleaner in and drove it for 100 miles (it runs pretty darn good) and it passed, will probab;y be selling it this summer, just had the interior detailed and it looks great for a 2008. I will check all the fuses. When I tap in it flickers some. The engine light is on.

When I got mine, it had partial numbers. I looked around here and found a post on resoldering some pins on the pcb. I pulled the cluster and resoldered them and have fully functioning numbers since.

Mike, you need access to an OBD code reader, to find the code for the engine light, that's on.
Once you have the embedded code, you should be able to correct/fix whatever is shorting out the odometer.

One other thought is how old is the battery?
