just a thought...
the thought of tuning an aveo IS catching on!! I was at my friends house and I happened to meet a Honda Technician, and he has a very good knowledge on all cars in general. He and I started talking about cars and stuff, turns out he seriously thinks I should slap on a turbo kit in my aveo. In all seriousness though, he thinks the aveo is indeed a decent car that has a lot of potential but NOS is out of the question. turns out, i need to flush my tranny and coolant he said. so I guess I'm doing that Monday. just thought I'd let the fellow aveo owners know that the aveo is gaining popularity and is being a bit more recognized.
later, I'm out.

Re: just a thought...
it is, but it isnt. alot of aftermarket companies that did support us, are backing out on the aveo. but i am seeing alot more aveos on the road now than i did last year, prolly cus u can get them new or fairly new for cheap, and of course the big reason-GAS! plus they are spacious and fairly comfortable. these cars are big in alot of other countries. just not so much here.

Re: just a thought...
well, look at it this way, the honda civic, which has a 4 cylinder engine, didn't cost much to buy and now look at what you can do with almost ANY civic. not much horsepower difference, no big engine difference, except the civics with v-tec. but, it will just take a few more years before we can go buy parts made just for specific aveo year models.

Re: just a thought...
hey guys,
being that the japanese cars are more prevalent, and seem to get all the better stuff, its nice to see some companies, be it the large corps, or smaller fabricators, starting to produce useful performance products for us "off the beaten path" aveo owners. i'm hoping to be able to cost effectively pump a few more ponies out of the 1.6L just for some good passing power, while along those lines maybe adding some ungraded looks for my car. from what i have seen on here all of you are doing a great job in both departments, and it inspires me to take mine to the next level. i'm 44 and it takes me back to those days of being a teenager and running our camaros, novas, gtos and the other muscle cars i grew up with.
all of you keep doing what you're doing, and maybe, jsut maybe, you'll be blown away by some old bastard like me in my aveo!! watch out!! catch me if you can!!

Re: just a thought...
just takes time... few more years and you'll see aveos with all sorts of aftermarket parts.

Sure would be nice! getting tired of getting my speed out of me in the Grand National. need a change, change is good.

Re: just a thought...
the 1.6 is a strong motor, we can pull the hp out of it, but just finding the cash to put up for it seems to be a problem for alot of us. my turbo project is on hold currently due to lack of funds, but i only need a few more pieces then - its on...

Re: just a thought...
and the parts are hard to find... the mechanic said he'd like to see my car do 1/4 mile in under 10 seconds, he thinks if I spend a lot of time and money, it probably could.

Re: just a thought...
yeh, alot of money to ditch the 1.6 and swap in sumtin bigger...

Re: just a thought...
lol. get a 2.0L.
I guess its amazing what .4L makes a huge difference. I was on cars.com doing research and I think the difference between a 1.6L and a 2.0L was nearly 60-70HP.
