honestly that is with any used car.
I'd expect to pay 700-800 just for the timing belt work. I don't think $1k to do the rest is bad at all.
its dealer prices too. And "often" dealers charge more for smaller tasks.
I would definitely go to a dealer (if there is a slight increase in price) for real engine / tranny work, like timing belts, clutches etc (if i didnt do it myself anyhow). The warranty and knowing the parts are oem quality may the price worth it.
I have seen dealers quote $1000+ for one set of brakes. RIP OFF. I can do all four corners typically for $400, often less including labor. And I mean thats what I charge people. If i do them its more like $200..
On petrified.rabbits statement I definitely agree! For brakes at all four corners on my Suburban the dealership wanted to charge me $1000.00 for all four rotors and pads at all corners parts + labor. Apparently GM rotors were $150/rotor. Thats $600 just in rotors. I told them to call me either when they had dropped the price to a more industry standard price or stopped smoking marijuana. Anyway I pulled the truck into my garage and did just like petrified.rabbit. Did my brakes at all four corners for around $450.00.
well the 08 is going in for a complete tune up and timing belt job wish me luck lol
It will idle higher if the engine is cold, as for a ticking sound if you get one!? mines
done that since the day i drove it of the lot
