Introducing my 07 Aveo hatchback
Hello everyone! I have been browsing your forum for some time, and now that I bought an aveo I decided to register. Nice to see so many people here! I bought my aveo two months back, but it was actually produced last year. It was the last one with old body the dealer had in stock and it is brand new, well it was two months ago. I use it every day to commute to my work and already put 3000 kilometers on it. Even had a chance to give it an offroad test)) when I was going to a sort of picnik with my friends, and it passed the test ok.

I think I'm gonna keep it stock, but will possibly give the wheels a change some time later. It's a 1,2 l engine, and we just got two choices here which are 1.2 or 1.4 l. I got almost a base trim and what I have is an a/c, driver airbag, 14" wheels, manual and not body color mirrors and mp3 radio. And I'm quite happy with what I have!

Re: Introducing my 07 Aveo hatchback
congrats and welcome! ur aveo looks good in silver!
-
Re: Introducing my 07 Aveo hatchback
Thanks, I like it in silver too. And it was the only color the dealer had anyways  Here's another pic. They're poor quality but that's the best I could get from my mobile.[attachment=0:3ko78kpj]DSC00145.JPG[/attachment:3ko78kpj]
And I forgot to mention it also has power steering and front power windows.

Re: Introducing my 07 Aveo hatchback
Did you install the power windows yourself? I've never heard of just front power windows as an option.
-
Re: Introducing my 07 Aveo hatchback
No, I didn't istall anything. :P The reason is I got a 1.2 l engine. Yes, here, in Russia, we got that toy 1.2 l engine for the aveo, and the 1.4 l is the top. And you can just have front power windows for a 1.2 l. But anyways I don't need the rear ones because I don't use them. Let rear passengers do some work

Thanks! Yes I can see it in your avatar and mine has those headlights with integrated turn signals.
I wanna ask ya guys a question. My car sweats inside when it's rainin, which is especially becoming an issue at this time of year. Windows get foggy inside, especially the windshield. I defog them using the a/c, but don't wanna have the a/c on all the time. Anybody have that issue and how do you fix that? I cleaned them with a car window cleaning fluid but there's been almost no rain after that, especially when I'm driving.
:P

Rostov, i've been to Nizhny Novgorod in the mid 90's, my parent were buyin a Gaz Volga 3110 direct from the factory there.

Re: Introducing my 07 Aveo hatchback
Ok, which Rostov did you mean? If it's Rostov-na-donu I lived there for a short time when I was a lil kid and it's my mother's native town. I will be probably kicked out for going off the subject
:P but I just wonder if we can be about the same age. I am 32. Do you mind if I go a bit personal and ask what ur age is?

They didnt even change it when they put out the SRT-4 either. I gotta roll down the back windows. When someone bitches about it, I tell them, "There is a reason you are in the back bitch, now crank them windows!" lol
Welcome.

Re: Introducing my 07 Aveo hatchback
Is the heater control on fresh air or re-circulate? You'll get major fogage if you leave it on re-circulate.
-
Re: Introducing my 07 Aveo hatchback
I always keep the heater control on fresh air except for when I'm in a traffic jam or a stinky truck passes by.
I normally set the fan speed knob to 3rd position with the air blowing towards my feet to partially avoid the problem, and if the fan on 1st speed the windshield and front side windows get fogged in seconds. So far as I know this problem is common with the aveo especially if the air humidity ir high, whis is my case.

Re: Introducing my 07 Aveo hatchback
Here in Nizhny. And I used to work with an Australian company as interpreter for a couple of years in my home town. Lack speaking practice badly at the moment though.

Re: Introducing my 07 Aveo hatchback
Offtopic: why nobody ever mentioned my english is good. Does my english really sucks? Anyway here in Singapore many singaporean speak Singlish or so called broken english (meaning English 70%, Chinese 10%, Malay 10%, Tamil 5%, Other dialects 5%).
Anyway, nice car you have. Congrats. I think I am using final drive ratio from your car. Whats your gear ratio?
-
Re: Introducing my 07 Aveo hatchback
That's probably because ur english is really good. :P It may be as good as everybody else's on here and no one just notices.
Saw ur car today on the forum - impressed by ur hp increase, unbelievable. Ur hp is just twice as high as mine - my car has 71 hp. Well I'm looking into my manual now and it says my main gear ratio is 4.105, and I got a 1.2 SOHC engine.
