      High Idle

I'm sorry if this goes a little all over the place. It's been a while since I've thought about these events, so I'll just write them in when I remember.

So I have a 08 Aveo LS, it has been sitting for about a year now. It all began when I went out to my car to start it up to go to work, and the battery was dead. So I got on my riding lawn mower, got my jumper cables out, hooked it up to my batteries, sat down in the car, started it up, and as soon as I did I start seeing smoke. I jump out and I noticed the jumper cables are smoking and melting as I'm looking at them. I hurried up and pull the cables off of the battery and throw them away from me. Not knowing at the time that something had melted somewhere. So fast forward a week or two and I start getting codes that I can't remember anymore, but I would have to pull over to the side of the road and use my OBD2 scanner to clear the codes because it was in limp mode. This went on for the next couple of weeks and it seemed to just get worse and worse. I remember it was raining one day, I remember hitting a couple of puddles, and the last one that I hit on the county road coming home was when my car just completely went into super limp mode. I ended up taking it to a friend that is a mechanic, he replaces sparkplugs, the injectors, that were operating at like 70% and the lowest was 50%. The MAF, PCV, pedal sensors (both) has been replaced, the intake, has a lifetime warranty on it, and I have gotten a couple of bad ones so have replaced my intake on this car probably six or seven times bc of the intake code it was throwing . I have bought a ECM from Flagship that programs it with my VIN number, it has a brand new air intake w/sensor, has new crankshaft sensor, camshaft sensor I believe as well. There's other things I have replaced as well, just have to find the picture I took off everything he replaced. Needless to say I have sank about $1,800 to $2,100 into this car and it is still not running. The car itself is only worth about $1,300 lol. It's been a really good car, it's a standard so I don't have to worry about anybody just jumping in and stealing it that's for sure since not a lot of people seem to know how to drive a standard these days. So my one buddy that is the mechanic could not figure out what was wrong with it, after putting his scanner on it, replacing what it was showing that was wrong, he gave up. I ended up getting in contact with a brother of a guy I go to church with, he came over here and hooked up his fancy OBD2 scanner and it ended up popping up a throttle module code. That particular module is connected to the intake and it's all one you can't just get that specific module. So after doing some research of my own online I have come across a box that is supposed to be underneath the dash somewhere that is supposed to pertain to the intake module that is not connected to the intake under the hood. There was a bit of back firing going on, disconnected the catalytic converter, though loud, speed the backfire. So I'm sure that needs to be replaced

Now I'm thinking that when I had jumped my car off with my lawn mower and melted my expensive jumper cables, that it melted something else down the line. The first mechanic had went through everything that he could get to look for melted wires and then rewrapped them all up with the black tubing and electrical tape. So he didn't find anything. If anybody on here to give me any sort of clue as to what I could do I would be so grateful. Since I have already dumped more money into this car than what it's worth I would really like to be able to get this car back on the road.

I know there are A LOT of really smart people on here and would GREATLY appreciate any advice to help me with my little bean mobile. Thank you all and Good bless!

      EDIT:
I found the list of codes it is throwing. Some will be fixed, just putting down everything it was throwing at the time.
      1.P0068 MAF throttle position correlation.
2.P2282 Air between throttle body / intake valves.
3.P2106 throttle actuator control system forced limited power.
4.P2110 throttle actuator control system Forced limited RPM.
      5.P0222 throttle/pedal position sensor/switch B circuit low.
      6.P0123 throttle/pedal position sensor / switch A circuit high.
      7.P2135 throttle/pedal position sensor/switch A/B correlation.
8.P0507 Idle air control system RPM higher than expected.

Melting cables is from 2 many amp I going to assume that it started by jumping the first time or did you get the cables crossed backwards you might have a problem with the throttle sensor and the throttle body do you have a code reader recomend an autel maxiAP Ap200 check the hose to the throttle body to air cleaned if it was sitting a year all the gas in the gas tank is old and bad and running old fuel will gum up things check your fuel preassure lot of times they go bad sitting as the fuel will get acidic and deteriorate rubber and metal all the way to injectors I as a powersports mechanic have to clean and replace a lot of FI parts from sitting a long time
