Hey all Im looking for lowering springs and I can Order some K-Sports for my car (pretty cheap) but when you go to order there are multiple options ranging from 50MM - 125MM does anyone know how to measure this or what the MM means, and if so how low would my car go and which ones should I order?

i want to lower my car too , for the looks and for the harder spring,
but my problem is,,, my work ocassionally require me to carry 500 lbs of load,,
is lowering not an option for me ?
50-125mm (millimeters) is 2-5" (inches)
A 500lb load would need to be spread over the boot and the 3 rear seats, each of which have a 68kg (150lb) rating.
4x150=600lb, Use heavy duty springs (see My Garage), it should be OK.
gclark is right, the lowering springs have a higher spring rate than oem = better for carrying loads, lower ride height = less travel before the load bottoms out.. is a weird balance. depending on where the 500# is, then you will be ok, i have had some weight in my car, even at my height. (4 people and up to 200 lbs in the trunk)..
measure the difference in ride height from the top of the tire to the fender wheel. that is the gap you are eliminating..

I appreciate the link but it is a bit confusing. I need to figure out ride height. after doing research I found that 50MM would equal 1.6 KG/MM ride height drop. but the mm formula is really confusing me.
i dont know what conversion you are using, the ride drop is just the the amount of lowering you will see.
there are 25.4 mm in an inch. So if you buy 25mm drop spring you will see @ a 1 inch drop, 50mm springs will be @ 2 inches of drop, 75mm will yield about a 3 inch drop etc. Any other amounts will yield +/- a fraction of an inch..
measure from the top of the tire, straight up to the fender, that is where the drop will appear to occur, or be most noticeable.
Thank you so much. I have been using all kinds of calculators online and they are just confusing me like crazy so the 50 MM's would work I thank bith of you that have replied to my question. I have been real antsy and saw a great deal on K-Sport Springs but when I went to order them they were showing 125MM- 50MM I had no idea what it meant. Thank you both of you guys.

I see no Aveo springs on the list.
There may be some on the "coil-over" racing springs, the 50-125mm range is more applicable to a set of coilivers.

it was on the your hot car website, I selected the Ksports. So are you saying the Ksports are only for use with Coil overs? I want to tell ya I truly appreciate the help thank you its making my choice easier Thank ya.Quote:

those k sports for $50 say universal on them, that means they will not fit. Same with the $100 megan springs.
K sport and megan do make some better products, but the name sells a lot of junk for sellers..
