Car problem?

Yesterday I was driving and my car slowed down, I pressed on the gas pedal gently but the car did not accelerate and slowed down to almost a stop. I pressed the gas pedal to the floor but nothing and then I shot forward.. What is going on with my car??

What year is your Aveo? Could be the TPS or the throttle stepper motor (post 06 models). You will want to scan the ECM for any codes to get a better clue.
