I find it hard to believe that some of those measurements exceeded 50+ feet. Seems a bit much. Maybe these people should have seat boosters in their cars. Just sayin. I mean if short people are running other people over....

      Im totally joking of course!
You can not commit crimes in a Aveo. Its just not fast enough.

I would see trucks & SUV's being bad... But I agree with mikedudley17 that 50+ ft seems to be too much.

      It's tough being green.....

I was working construction and I learned to back into every parking spot right away. I learned this from the Bell South Guys. Pull up to a spot, inspect it, then back in immediately. When you are ready to leave, just get in a leave. At that point you have a forward view. The only problem parking the Aveo is trying to see around the tall vehicles as I pull out.

Oh my other issue with blind spots, it's not backing up it's going forward. When I pull up to an intersection, I have missed cars hidden by the passenger side mirror. It's just big enough to block a car while doing to quick left right look, and while you are pulling out, the mirror still keeps the car hidden during the turn. Yikes. This has almost caught me several times.

Any other experiences similar to this?

I found this out early on with mine. I had thought that because the car was an 06 typical side view wirror blind spots were engineered out. Especially with the size of those side mirrors! But oh heck no...the blind spot on the Aveo will swallow a good sized car if they've got themselves positioned just right... and there's always some bloke right that just manages to do this right at the wrong time.

That 'over the shoulder' look, that they try to to hammer in peoples heads in drivers ed (I'd know I'm a driving instructor) is still required.. A minor annoyance to an otherwise good car so far.

Never had an issue with side blindspots on the aveo, but I have my mirrors pointed out pretty far, also used to driving vans with only mirrors.

My issues is how GIGANTIC the A-pillars are... now those will eat cars at stop signs.

That's why my summer car is a convertible. There's nothing like a totally unobstructed view for the ultimate best 'over the shoulder' check; it results in added safety.

Yeap, I usually drive like a bat out of hell. Meaning I can zip by people and move into the right hand land. EXCEPT and MEAN EXCEPT most people are frickin sheep. As soon as you pass them they speed up and "heard" with the lead car. This morning I got beeped. Scare the hell of me and I feel like an 4$$ for it. I passed a slow car and try to move in the right hand lane ( I did not look over the should just glance my mirror) and I will be damned, the old lady caught up with me and was pacing me. SHEEP I say SHEEP.
