Aveo ranks #2
http://finance.yahoo.com/loans/artic...-Cheapest-Cars
We rank as the second cheapest car right under the kia rio.....but i dont know how they are only managing 28 combined in mpg with the auto considering I have to romp the hell out of my gas to get that low. plus they don't show the manual mpg for the aveo when they do for everyone else, whats up with that? but the fit doesnt even make the top ten haha

Re: Aveo ranks #2
Its good to be known for something I guess.
But I do find the fuel milage for the Aveo rather low when listed. I average about 38mpg(with a manual trans) myself and I dont exactly baby it in about a 60/40 highway/city driving.

Re: Aveo ranks #2
They don't actually drive the car that much, at least enough to actually get a real world economy figure. They just work off the EPA rated figures, which, as you, I find a little misleading.

i saw that article last night i think and i was a little disappointed by it as well. we never get a good rap from anybody. except for being the second cheapest car in america... :x

Re: Aveo ranks #2
to hell with all of the reviews. The Aveo5 is a great car! It does have high MPG compared to other cars. If you compare it to say the Honda fit bring this into consideration... honda's are pretty much the most stolen car. And if a magazine is going to rate a car better than another over 1 or 2 mpg well thats just sad. Besides, they are just estimates. Personally, I feel comfortable in my Aveo5, I think it's got a good amount of power behind it for an economy car, and I believe it's pretty easy to dress up with cool aftermarket parts. I'm glad no matter what magazine prints what that I bought my Aveo5!

Re: Aveo ranks #2
see the whole thing with the fit is that its a honda so every mag is gonna push it as the best or so it seems....but if you go on a fit forum the truth comes out about mpgs and that the fit gets pretty much the exact same mpg or less in real world senerio as the aveo or atleast my aveo....i get anywhere from 32-35 mpg mixed....and when i beat on it i still get atleast 30 mpg

Re: Aveo ranks #2
man i was so pissed today...i was watching msnbc (i think, whatever channel is like the constant stock market channel) at work and with the way gas prices are they said everyone should drive a honda...and they go on to talk up the fit the its the greatest thing since sliced bread....pretty much acting like its the only car out there like it. they said everyone should drive one because they are affordable and almost get hybrid gas mileage. i wanted to jump thru the tv and punch someone. first of all it doesn't get near 40mpg like hybrids; second there are two other cars just like it that are cheaper, the yaris and the aveo; lastly thats exactly what our economy needs is more U.S. spent money going to companies over seas. I just hate how everyone ignors the aveo and acts like the fit is the end all to the b-segment when in real life they are equal.
