      Aveo Price

Hi. Newbie here. I have been looking at a couple Aveo's for my wife. It drives like our 97 Cavalier (which she loves) and we need an economical car. We found one and wanted to get everyone's opinions. It's an 07 with 14k mi, blue, 4 dr, auto, sedan, w/ cd, air cond, and that's about it. We got them down to $8000. Nada, KBB, and Edmonds are all over the place on retail value, so I wanted to get everyone else's thoughts. Thanks in advance!

      go steelers!

      sorry, had to.

for $8000, i would say you need to look at interest rates, etc. I think if you get the traditional 8-9 % they offer for used cars, then your payments would almost be the same as a new aveo.

if you travel up to pittsburgh, in the sunday paper you could get a pontiac G3 fully loaded brand new for 10300, i think that is with low apr financing too.. and the warranty, which might make a better deal than buying used too.

Even Ebay has new aveos for pretty cheap, and with all the incentives out for new cars...
but if you stuck with the $8000 and have a good rate, that sounds like a good deal.

I can't help much, car prices are a lot different here in alaska but I agree if you get a good rate it sounds like a good deal. My rate on my 09 aveo is terrible, but I got it for 10,400.

$8000 sounds about right for an 07 with that mileage. Prices have gone up on the 2009 MY but you can get 0% interest. I would stick with the others and say if you can get a decent rate $8000 is pretty fair. Remember though that the dealerships are hurting...you can squeeze some little things out of them. I would offer 8000 and ask that they threw in an extended warranty and when they say no I would ask them to sign a promissary note that they will change the timing belt, tensioner and water pump for free at 60000 miles. My wife hates car shopping with me but we have gotten some terrific deals
