Almost 100k on original brake pads..

As the title says I have 98k on y '06 svm (5speed), and still haven't changed the brake pads yet! I'm pretty happy about that. On last inspection they were getting low. I would imagine I dont have much time until there toast. I'm shocked they've lasted this long!

Did you have to do anything with the rotors? how about the drums and shoes? Any brake problems at all?

      are you the original owner?

i havent done my brakes yet, and they are really the only factory brakes that lasted 36k with me behind the wheel. I have had brake fade on numerous occasions, but the feeling does last (fluid issue most likely).

Yep, original owner. I bought the car with 45 miles on the odo. Here's the clincher too... I had to replace the bearing on the passenger side. To get the rotor off, I was knocking it with a hammer and ended up leaving a bunch of tiny dents on the pad surface area. I thought this would eat that pass. side brake pad up right away, but it's been holding on since I put it all back together. Now, maybe my clutch wont last as long sice I use downshifting to help braking in most situations. On hard stops at last minute yellow lights, I'll even use the hand brake to keep the car leveled out. I try not to tailgate, as I see a big majority of people using there brakes way to often. Not a whole lot of hills here either.

Congratulations, nice to see someone easy on brakes too. I also use the hold button a lot to slow me down going down a hill or when I know I am coming to a stop. I have a 2010 Suzuki Swift and are very pleased with it.

honestly, clutches only really wear while "slipping" as in you creating motion to the pedal while pushing, or letting off the clutch.

If you clutch like an "on/off" switch effectively, your clutch will last a long long time (not all manual drives clutch "properly").

Holding the pedal in increases throw out bearing wear though.
