2004 chey aveo radio
Hello all, My stock 2004 radio has been acting up lately, sometimes when i hit a bump the radio will stop and go into a loading mode where it thinks i put a cd in the drive, after it spits out an error 01 the cd icon stays illuminated until i turn the car off, is there a way i can fix this or should i just go pull a radio out of an aveo up at the salvage yard?

I'd venture a guess that there's likely a broken or loose solder connection somewhere in the stereo - honestly, if it were my vehicle,I'd just pick up an inexpensive aftermarket headunit and installation kit; $100 and probably superior sound quality and features....
If memory serves, there's a security code related to the stereo as well; if you get a junkyard part, you get to play "guess the code" - I think there's a list of all the possible codes out there on the forum somewhere.

I think its mechanical and something is wrong with the mechanism, falling down when its not supposed to, . Im waiting to see the specials at the junkyards around me, the main one i go to, has radios for 14 dollars and they will give you a battery to go test it before you pull it. i had to code this radio because i left my battery unhooked too long, its not a big deal, I might jerry rig something in the meantime.
