2.0L Turbo - OMG my car is dead again!!

Talk about bad lucks man i swear that car is cursed...

      The engine is blown again!!!

For some god knows what damn reason, the oil return line unhooked itself from the oil pan while taking a drive, i lost all the oil that was in the engine i only noticed when i heard the engine knocking.

It's not seized but the lack of oil damaged the rings of 2 pistons and they now have low compression.

So its parked for the rest of the year and winter, sick and tired of playing with that right now, might pick it up next year with some forged pistons/rings.

Until then R.I.P 2.0L Turbo Aveo!

Aw man, not again... I gotta admit, you've put a ton of work into the car. This really sucks just for me to hear let alone have it happen to you.

With custom car build ups comes lots of downtime. My turbo charged focus spent more time on blocks then it did on the road. We replaced a ton of my lines under the hood with steel braided lines, seemed like a good idea at the time, until one of them sawed through my steel clutch line and I had no clutch and couldn't shift. I blew that engine up 3 times before I threw in the towel for good.

As i'm sure you're doing as well. I never heavily modify my daily driver because something will/can always happen to it.

I just wish the engine would have blown due to boost or some good reason, not a damn oil return line that accidently gets disconnected for no reason.

The car isnt my daily driver thank god, else i wouldn't have put the turbo on in the 1st place.

I might call it quits myself and get something easier to work with, i've had my eye on a nice GTI

Well whatever you decide. Take a week or two away from it before you make a decision. I threw in the towel too quickly on that focus and wished I didn't. I did pacify my inner speed demons by buying a crotch rocket afterwards though.

Nice choice in the GTI if you go that route. I wish I had the $$$$ for something German again.

Not to mention my newborn son is now part of the family, i dont have hundreds of dollars to dump into a car that spends 80% of the time on jackstands lol.

Regardless its put away until next spring.

Ouch. Sorry to hear it's down again so soon. I really like what you did with you car, and it's actually a consideration for what I may do with mine in the future. I'm not going turbo though, that's beyond my ability. Hopefully whatever your decision is, it turns out good for you.
